What is the PCA?
The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) was formed in 1973 to be a denomination that is “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.” The PCA is an evangelical denomination in that we proclaim the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The PCA is a reformed denomination in that we believe in the biblical truth proclaimed during the Protestant Reformation. The Word of God, rather than tradition, is the only guide for the Church. God alone saves through his immeasurable mercy and according to his sovereign plan. We believe the system of doctrine taught in the Bible is summarized well in the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms. The PCA is a Presbyterian denomination in that we have a representative form of church government. For more information about the PCA denomination, please visit: PCA Home - pcanet.org

How is Gospel Fellowship governed?
Within the PCA denomination, a local church is governed by a “Session” comprised of elders elected by the members of the congregation. Pastors and representatives of local churches in a region form a “Presbytery.” Representatives of Presbyteries and local churches meet annually at a “General Assembly.” As Gospel Fellowship is a new church plant, we are currently being governed by the Session of Christ the King (Joplin, MO), which is our sending church. Once Gospel Fellowship grows and is able to elect their own elders, we will be governed by our local Session. Gospel Fellowship is part of the Hills & Plains Presbytery, which includes parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

What is your worship service like/what should I expect if I attend?
Our worship service is liturgical in nature. If you're not familiar with a liturgical service, don't worry! Many aren't at first. Using liturgy in worship is a common way of worshipping together publicly, and may include elements like corporately reciting Scripture, singing the Doxology, reading parts of the Westminster Confession of Faith and call & response prayers. We use bulletins to guide us through the service and everything will be printed for you to participate. No need to have anything memorized or feel like you're not on the "inside." Our worship music involves singing hymns from the Trinity Hymnal or the Trinity Psalter Hymnal, as well as other contemporary hymns, and our music is typically led by voice and guitar. Each Sunday we take communion together. All those that profess their faith in Jesus Christ, are baptized, and are a member of an evangelical church in good standing are invited to take communion with us.

Do you have a Children's Church or a Nursery?
We value family worship and love seeing your children in the service, worshiping with us. Family worship will always be a priority for Gospel Fellowship and therefore we encourage all attendees to show extra grace to those kiddos who might be feeling a little wiggly or loud during the service. Should you feel like your children need a quiet space to calm down, we have a large "Family Room" space that can be used for children of all ages. It's equipped with chairs, toys, a rocker and baby changing station. The family room also has a live broadcast of the service so you won't miss a beat. You'll see many families stepping in and out of the family room throughout the service and we invite you to use that space however it works best for you and your specific needs.

Do you offer Sunday School?
We are in the process of planning and launching our Adult and Children Sunday School classes soon. As our body grows, so will our ability to offer new programs and classes, so be on the lookout for more information about this soon. When they do begin, these will happen before the service on Sunday mornings and we are actively seeking volunteers to help co-lead these classes. If you're interested in sharing your time with Gospel Fellowship in this way, please reach out to Rev. Dustin Ray by emailing dustin@gospelsgf.org

What's the best way for me to get/stay connected?
Gospel Fellowship is on Church Center. Join our group HERE. Signing up does not commit you to anything or make you a member, it's just a great app for staying connected to what's happening at the church. We'll also use it to communicate about need-to-know info (like on inclement weather days, for example). Another way to reach out is to use the email template on our website HERE. Your message will be sent directly to our pastor, Rev. Dustin Ray, and he or his wife Debbie will reach out to you as quickly as they're able. This is a great option if you're interested in visiting us but have some questions ahead of time. We welcome you to connect with us in whichever ways feel most comfortable to you. However you go about it, just know we look forward to meeting and getting to know you further!

You can place your gift in the offering basket as it is passed during each worship service. 2. You can give online through our Mission to North America page HERE. All giving to Gospel Fellowship is tax deductible.
